Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones are currently in the middle of a beef that has them both trading shots at each other. In the most recent of the barrage of social media back and forth, Israel Adesanya has attacked ‘Bones’ rather aggressively.
After his win over Paulo Costa at UFC 253, Israel Adesanya said that a move up to light heavyweight will only come after he discusses the same with his coach, Eugene Bareman. Jones noted the same and went a little personal.
The former light heavyweight champion said that he wondered what Adesanya’s father would have advised him regarding fighting him. ‘The Last Stylebender’ fired back by letting him know that his father believes he would defeat Jones. However, he added that Jones’ mother would’ve been disappointed with what the former 205-pound champ has become.

So to get ahead of all the bullshit coming. My statement below.
Lol if Jones has this much knowledge about the fight game and fame game he woulda known not to run back to the car to get the money and coke. Dumbass. pic.twitter.com/pJnNTGqsNV— Israel Adesanya (@stylebender) October 1, 2020
Adesanya also took a jibe at Jones’ run with the law. He put up a story on his Instagram where he explained his side of the argument. ‘The Last Stylebender’ reminded everyone that it was Jones who started the back-and-forth between the two in an interview with TMZ. Moreover, the middleweight champion also seemed annoyed by Jones bringing in his family into the matter.
Can the beef between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya convert into a fight in the Octagon?
The strife between two of the biggest stars in the UFC has the potential to turn into one of the biggest fights in company history. Adesanya boasts of an undefeated record and has been getting better with every fight. On the other hand, Jones is a certified UFC great who already has a very good claim of being the GOAT.
However, at the point where they are in their careers, it makes it difficult for them to meet inside the octagon. After vacating his light heavyweight belt, Jones is preparing for a heavyweight debut. He is readying himself to fight much bigger opponents and Adesanya may not be on his radar.

On the other hand, Adesanya is not a huge middleweight. Furthermore, it remains to be seen how he stacks up against the light-heavyweight competition in the UFC. ‘The Last Stylebender’ has the experience above middleweight, but this is in the kickboxing discipline.
However, since Jones has his eyes set at heavyweight gold, the fight between the two looks a bit far-fetched dream. Regardless, that doesn’t deprive the fans of the banter between the two.
