As Dana White confirmed that Yair Rodriguez will not fight Zabit Magomedsharipov, the latter is on the lookout for a new opponent.
‘El Pantera’ reportedly sprained his ankle and also suffered a fracture, thus rendering himself unfit for competition on the August 29 card.
Understandably unhappy with the situation, Zabit posted an analysis on his Twitter handle.

It’s funny I signed bout agreement few weeks ago, Yair never did, UFC never announced officially main event.
Two options:
1. UFC playing games
2. Yair has no balls

“It’s funny I signed bout agreement [a] few weeks ago, Yair never did, UFC never announced officially [the] main event. Two options: 1. UFC playing games 2. Yair has no b***s.”
Many users responded by saying that the situation regarding injuries could very well be genuine. However, amidst the numerous replies came a comment that might just give a whole new angle to the situation.
While uncertainty continued to loom over his fight on August 29, Calvin Kattar’s coach sparked a conversation about a rematch. Replying to Zabit’s analysis of the whole cancelation, Tyson Chartier responded saying-
“All due respect. “Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones”. You pulled out of Boston on us, you wouldn’t fight 5 rounds with us. We never called you out because we respect you and the UFC. Now please respect us and sign the contract v @CalvinKattar 8/29 5 rounds”

This comes as a card-saving suggestion. Moreover, the two even clashed once before in an extremely close 3-round fight back in 2019.
Hence, a 5-round rematch would certainly provide fight fans with something worth heating up the popcorn bucket for.
Why is Zabit Magomedsharipov vs Calvin Kattar 2 a great option?
The two Featherweights clashed in the main event of UFC Moscow on November 9, 2019. The fight essentially kept fans on their feet as both fighters dished out an impressive volume of strikes for a 3-round fight.
Even though ‘ZaBeast’ won via unanimous decision, the contest was as close as it can get. While Kattar managed to land 127 strikes compared to Zabit’s 100, the latter landed more significant strikes (96-80).

Zabit also managed to secure one takedown after 4 attempts, which granted him extra points. Nevertheless, Kattar’s takedown defense seemed on point.
Therefore, a strenuous 5-round fight will definitely push these phenomenal fighters to their limits, and the resulting bout promises to be an all-out war.
