Jon Jones has officially vacated his light heavyweight title. With the news coming in just when the heavyweight division received its GOAT in Stipe Miocic, the mind goes to but one place. A matchup between Miocic and Jones.

The sheer domination he has had amongst the LHWs in the past decade always begged the question of his capabilities on heavyweight. Moreover, even ‘Bones‘ has always voiced his interest in moving up a division. The league of the ‘Big Boys’ has always fascinated Jones, and conquering the heaviest hitters is something he now has his mind on.

The two supposedly met backstage at a WWE event that Jones was attending back in 2014. Lesnar had already established himself as a force to reckon with in the MMA world. In fact, his title reign ended much before this encounter between him and Jones.

Evidently, Jones seemed pretty excited about meeting ‘The Beast Incarnate‘. He congratulated him for a great performance on the night and signed off with his face lit with glee.

Is Jon Jones finally moving up to heavyweight in the UFC?

33-year-old Jones has been hinting at a move for a long time. However, the monetary fiascos with the UFC earlier this year pummeled any speculation of him fighting at heavyweight.

Nevertheless, tweets regarding a shift have filled Jones’s account yet again. Apparently, the time right now for a super fight with ‘Stone Cold’. However, even Francis Ngannou would do wonders both for the promotion and Jones. Thus, his shift now feels much more feasible than it was at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

He has already started training for fighting at the heavyweight division soon after his fight with Dominick Reyes. Thus, it seems like he is waiting for the go-ahead.
