After weeks of struggle and a series of cancellations, UFC President Dana White has finally managed to make UFC 249 a reality. Among some of the greatest fights, we will ever witness lies a rematch between Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone.
Cerrone and Pettis went toe to toe back in January 2013. Pettis managed to bag a win that night, dropping Cerrone two and a half minutes into the first round.
Pettis going into the fight boasted of a record of 16-2. Cerrone, on the other hand, going into the fight was at 19-4-0-1.

Cerrone ahead of his fight was looking to use his height to his advantage over Pettis. However, Pettis had his own ammunition locked and loaded.
Cerrone was unable to find his bearings inside the octagon since the first bell. It left him vulnerable with clear weaknesses for Pettis to exploit. A body kick brought to the side brought Donald Cerrone down, making Pettis the first man to knock him out.
Following his win over Cerrone, Pettis went on to win the lightweight title after submitting Benson Henderson. Pettis managed to defend that title once before getting dethroned by Rafael Dos Anjos.

Unsurprisingly, Pettis didn’t take to these comments too kindly. Therefore, this fight gives him the opportunity to settle this matter, once and for all.
Do you think Cerrone can bag a win this time or will the fight end the way it ended the last time they fought?
