Conor McGregor undoubtedly is one of the most popular names in the world of combat sports. It would not be wrong to address him as the face that runs the place. However, one cannot possibly reach this position without having some rivalries and stirring up a lot of controversies.
Headstrong about his place in the UFC, McGregor is where the money is at and he knows it. He has confirmed the same multiple times.
“I can change your bum life. I can make you rich. When you sign to fight me its a celebration. You ring your wife, ‘baby we done it, Conor McGregor made us rich. I’m the money fight at all weight divisions.”- Conor McGregor

In a recent post on Twitter, BT Sport sheds light on some of the most iconic face offs McGregor has had inside the octagon. The video looks back at his fight with Diego Brandao way back in September 2014. Up to his most recent fight with Donald Cerrone in January 2020.
Two fights into his career in the UFC, it was clear that McGregor was going to be top dog in the promotion. UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs Brandao was not just a big win for McGregor. Instead, it was a huge day for the SBG Ireland squad for McGregor, Pendred, Holohan, and Nelson all fought and won on that day.
Conor McGregor Takes Rivalries to the Next Level
Before McGregor took on Dustin Poirier, people thought the Irishman was a knockout specialist who could only perform in the octagon. However, following their fight McGregor’s ability to break someone mentally came to light. McGregor had effectively taken up residence in The Diamond’s mind well before fight week. This is evident in their face-off as McGregor taunts Poirier to bring it on and all the Diamond does is wave it off and walk back.
The verbal battle between Chad Mendes and McGregor goes back much earlier than their actual fight. When The Notorious One took personal shots at Money Mendes. On fight night the two fighters exchanged some words before moving back to their respective corners.
Nate Diaz and McGregor share one of the most dramatic rivalries in the UFC. The two have taken several shots at each other outside the octagon to full their feud. The fighters have crossed paths inside the octagon twice taking a win each from it. Even though they have had a lot of differences, McGregor took to social media at one point to congratulate Diaz over his return to the cage. Showing true warrior spirit.
McGregor is widely regarded as one of the best trash talkers. However, Eddie Alvarez did have his time in the sun against McGregor at one point. “You were on welfare brah. You ain’t no man, you took welfare. Don’t you talk about money. You took money from single moms, single moms go on welfare,” said Alvarez to which McGregor had nothing to say.

The Fiercest Feud in the UFC
All in all, the bad blood that exists between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor is one for the hall of fame. Their relationship can be traced back to his fight with Poirier, where the two indulged in a friendly back and forth over social media. However, it is all downhill from there.
Things started heating up between the two when Khabib called McGregor out for backing out of a fight using the birth of his firstborn as an excuse.

Their feud has also seen violence outside the octagon. For instance, when McGregor and his friends laid siege to Khabib’s team bus. And when Khabib leaped out of the octagon, after forcing McGregor to tap out, to confront McGregor’s jiu-jitsu coach and McGregor seemed to follow suit.
A horrid scene, without a doubt, which may result in the UFC taking a moral stand against a rematch between the two. However, money talks in the fight game, and this particular fight is where the money is at. The war goes on.
