Jon Jones has been busy preparing himself for a move to the heavyweight division. Ever since relinquishing his light heavyweight title, Jones has been in the gym lifting weights. Frequently sharing videos of the same, he was seen dabbling in everything from squats to deadlifts and more.

‘Bones’ shared a video of him squatting with 510 lbs on his shoulders. He would accomplish it with a loud shout. However, when Jones’s teammate attempted the same weight, he made it look easy, leaving Jon shaking his head in disbelief.

Jones has a history of being self-destructive with numerous incidents in the sport and outside it. However, now Jones seems to be truly focused on being the best version of himself.
Jones’s prospects at heavyweight
The former light heavyweight kingpin does not have a fight scheduled yet; however, he is presumably slated to take on the winner of the fight between Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou.
Jones has always flirted with the idea of moving up to heavyweight, but always postponed any dialogue about the same. However, Jones’s pursuit of heavyweight was set in motion following his interaction with Francis Ngannou.
The two stars agreed over social media to fight each other. However, the UFC was unable to bring this fight to reality with tough negotiations from both sides. After a dispute with UFC president Dana White, Jones would go on to relinquish his title.
Jones has defeated multiple generations of the lightweight division ever since becoming the youngest UFC champion in history. Many fans would argue that Jon is the greatest athlete the sport has ever seen.
A move to heavyweight would bring fresh exciting match-ups for Jones plus bring him the big paydays he feels he deserves.
Jon Jones could face Adesanya at Heavyweight
While Jones is in steady pursuit of heavyweight glory, Israel Adesanya is in negotiations to face the newly crowned light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz.

However, yet another mouthwatering matchup would be that between The Last Stylebender and Jones. They have had a long-standing feud over social media.
Jones has always called out Adesanya to move up and fight him at 205. However, the New Zealander had his focus trained on conquering the middleweight division first. Having bested the biggest names at 185, he could perhaps kick things up a notch.

A fight with Izzy is still not out of the question for Jones. It remains to be seen if Jones would move back down to light heavyweight to fight Adesanya.
