UFC Fight Island is very real and preparations are underway to bring the fights that fans want to see. The promotion has outlined an agenda to safeguard the fighters traveling to Abu Dhabi. Dana White has released a detailed update as to the testing and overall progress of Fight Island.

The testing phases have been underway since June 15th with 2004 tests being administered. Additionally, 3 medical facilities have been erected to ensure the complete and continual safety of personnel present on the Island.
The duration of the stay will include 5 COVID-19 tests being conducted for all personnel on board. Not to mention a mandatory quarantine upon arrival in the hotel room until test results are revealed.
The UFC had come under fire initially as they were the first sporting organization to make a return in North America. All other prominent sports leagues such as the NFL and the NBA are yet to return to action. In the meantime, the promotion has managed to make up for the lost time and are back on track in terms of their schedule.
UFC Fight Island: A brief overview
The concept for Fight Island came into being to accommodate international fighters. The coronavirus has led to unprecedented travel bans leaving international UFC fighters without an opportunity to compete. The efforts taken by the organization have led to Abu Dhabi housing the UFC throughout July. Abu Dhabi hosted the company back in September for a lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier.

The organization has announced the entire schedule set to kick off in the 2nd week of July. UFC 251 on July 11 will bear witness to three title fights on the main card, exciting MMA fans worldwide.
Through the progression update, it appears that the UFC is once again on the cusp of making strides unlike any other.
