Brian Ortega is a certified killer in one of UFC’s most stacked divisions. However, it seems that his brother can be an even more dangerous force to be reckoned with as a mixed martial artist.

Ortega was sparring with his 15-year old brother when the younger Ortega caught the former title challenger. ‘T-City’ posted a video on his Instagram story that showed blood oozing out from his nose. Brian seemed in a bit of pain. Regardless, he was still in awe that his younger brother got the better of him.

All I know is everybody’s got to watch out now. Cause this boy’s got hands,” Ortega said while he cleaned up the blood coming out from his nose. “Little bro got me. Had to,” he added.

Christopher Ortega, Brian’s little brother, has had a pretty good company for anyone who inspires to be a fighter. He has the liberty of sparring with an elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. However, a look at Christopher’s Instagram makes it clear that the other Ortega isn’t the only one he has had the opportunity to learn from.

Courtesy of his brother, Chris has been fortunate enough to learn about combat sports from one of the best to ever do it. This includes WBC super featherweight champ, Miguel Berchlet, and former UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida.

Brian Ortega doesn’t want his brother to be a fighter

Despite the promise that his brother shows, Brian doesn’t want him to be a fighter. Just like Nick Diaz, he doesn’t want his brother to lead the tough life of a fighter. Instead, he wishes to see him prosper in a profession that doesn’t require him to break his body down.

The world witnessed the younger Ortega on the big stage for the first time at the open workouts before UFC 222. Just a few days ahead of a fight with Frankie Edgar, ‘T-City’ introduced the world to his younger brother as the two sparred on the mat in front of the camera and the audience. In an interview, later on, Brian formally introduced his brother to his legion of fans.

While Ortega’s statement about what he wants for his brother is more than two years old, Christopher did agree to it. He revealed that he wanted to become an actor in life. Two years have passed since the 13-year old Christopher was under the bright lights of Vegas. While it isn’t clear if he still maintains his stance of becoming an actor, he can surely count on his older brother to have his back if he ever wants to follow the same path as him.

Meanwhile, Ortega is going back-and-forth with fellow featherweight contender Chan Sung Jung. The two have developed a genuine beef after Ortega slapped Jung’s friend and Korean rapper, Jay Park. ‘The Korean Zombie’ is having some issues in coming out of his country due to the ongoing pandemic. Once the situation resolves, the UFC will look to book a fight between the two.
