Irish MMA fans’ worst nightmare came true as the UFC officially delays the August 15 event, which was supposed to take place inside the 3Arena.
Almost 2 months ago, the Irish Government issued an order that denied licenses for events with more than 5,000 people. Immediately after the announcement, fight fans began to speculate on the future of UFC Dublin.

UFC officially postpones Dublin event
Until now, the UFC had not released a statement on the status of the card. However, as expected, the organization has officially postponed the card. Recently, the company made the announcement via its verified ‘UFC Europe’ account.
Due to current government restrictions on public gatherings in the Republic of Ireland, #UFCDublin originally scheduled for August 15th will not take place as planned at the @3ArenaDublin.

The event was expected to feature Robert Whittaker vs Darren Till in the main event. Nevertheless, that fight will now take place on July 25 in the Fight Island. As far as the date is concerned, Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier will now meet on August 15.
Unfortunately for the Irish fans, they haven’t witnessed a live event for almost five years.

Moreover, the UFC had planned many events that would have taken place abroad this year. But travel restrictions and other dangers due to the coronavirus forced the company to cancel or postpone all events.
As of now, the company is planning to hold all international fight cards at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The domestic events will continue to take place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
