Featherweight legend Jose Aldo is all set for his upcoming bantamweight championship bout against Petr Yan. In a recent interview, he stated that he wants to dominate the bantamweight division. And revealed his favorite superhero.
After failing to defeat Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 237, Aldo moved down to bantamweight. He fought Marlon Moraes in his first bantamweight match. Unfortunately, he lost the bout via a split decision. Many, including UFC President Dana White, believe that Aldo should have been granted the victory.

Nevertheless, he received the title shot ahead of other contenders. “The King of Rio” will fight surging contender Petr Yan for the vacant title at UFC 251.
Jose Aldo wants to dominate the division
Before his loss to Conor McGregor, Aldo was undefeated for nearly a decade. The Brazilian wishes to do something similar at a lower weight class.
“It’s another step in my legacy. I want to dominate the bantamweight division. Dede has always said that this is my weight class. And I always fought at featherweight. But now, from Saturday on – That’s why I moved down to bantamweight. That’s why I want to stay in this division.
“I want to fight with the best and defeat them all and when it’s all said and done, I can look back on what I have built.” (Translation by UFC News)
Aldo names his favorite superhero
It seems like Aldo is a huge fan of Iron Man. He revealed that he has clothes and phone cases with Iron Man on them. Aldo’s obsession with the Iron Man stems from the superhero’s superior intelligence.

“A superhero that I have constantly in mind and I wear his clothes every day, it’s the Iron Man. It’s on my phone case, on my T-shirts that I wear at home, train with his T-shirts. So that would be Iron Man… First of all, because of his intelligence. He’s the Iron Man, and that’s how I feel today.”

Aldo will face a young and hungry lion at UFC 251. And it will most likely be his last title shot in the UFC. If he wins, it could rejuvenate his career.
