Along with the caption is an image of the duo with the words Fight Night. However, as per Ariel Helwani, the company is looking at postponing the September PPV to a later date.
This scenario (Woodley-Covington on 9/19, UFC 253 moving to 9/26) looking more and more likely. Wouldn’t be surprised if it gets announced next week, at least the PPV date + Izzy v Costa being official. https://t.co/008BKE1mor

High stakes fight for Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington
Colby Covington who feels hard done by referee Marc Goddard’s actions in the final round of the UFC 245 main event will see this fight as having the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.
First, he will get a chance to beat a former champion and stake his claim to the next shot at the gold. Second, he wants to demolish Tyron Woodley and back up years of trash talk.
The hatred is mutual and should serve as motivation for ‘The Chosen One’ to arrest his losing streak. This is an opponent he has animosity with and will want to silence.

Tyron Woodley lost the welterweight title after holding it for four years. A third defeat will seal the deal on his title hopes for a while, and at 38 he does not have time on his side.
He knows a win over a higher-ranked contender could see his stock raised exponentially. Woodley was on the receiving end of this after Gilbert Burns beat him and shot up from sixth to first in the rankings.

Despite Tyron Woodley confirming the date, Covington will not believe that the fight is on until September 19 when the cage door shuts with himself, Woodley, and the referee being the only three inside.
