But unsurprisingly a majority of the MMA populace has failed to grasp the idea of a showdown between Henry Cejudo and Jose Aldo. The last time the Nova Uniao fighter came out of a fight with a win was against his fellow countryman Renato Moicano. The fight took place early last year in Fortaleza, Brazil. Following which Aldo lost to Alexander Volkanovski by unanimous decision.
His latest defeat came at the hands of The American Top Team fighter Marlon “Magic” Moraes. This bout was his debut in the Bantamweight division. The battle between the two Brazilians proved to be an extremely competitive affair. Following three rounds of exhilarating action, Moraes took the win by a seemingly controversial split decision(29-28, 28-29, 29-28). Dana White and his would-be opponent, Henry Cejudo believed that Jose Aldo should have been awarded the victory.
Henry Cejudo Opens Up About His Choice to Fight Jose Aldo
White claims that Cejudo got in touch with him to admit that Aldo had won that fight and that he wanted to fight Aldo. Therefore, Cejudo chose to face off against the King of Rio instead of the multiple fighters that have been waiting for their shot at the title eagerly. Aljamain Sterling, Petr Yan are some of the top-ranked contenders who were denied a crack at the title. In a recent interview with Helen Yee, The King of Cringe reiterated the fact that he will not be taking on the aforementioned fighters. The disappointed contenders took to social media as a response to Cejudo’s decision to fight Jose Aldo instead.
“First of all, Triple C doesn’t mess with Sterling silver. And second, Peter(Petr) Yan needs to learn Petr(better) English.”- Henry Cejudo in conversation with Helen Yee.

This clown choosing Aldo because I don’t speak perfect English 🤦🏻♂️ Since when Jose is the fluent speaker? What kind of logic is that? Henry knows he is not a draw and he is unsecured. In his head he already lost the fight to me. @ufc give me someone who is confident in himself! https://t.co/hAxpZKDICr

“Triple C is gonna be serving GOAT! On May 9th, Jo Baldo(Aldo), I’m gonna be serving GOAT”- Henry Cejudo on his fight with Jose Aldo.
Jose Aldo defended the UFC Featherweight Title seven times before he lost it to Conor McGregor in 2015. According to the UFC official rankings, Aldo stands at No. 6. FIghters coming off of losses to challenge for a title is a tale as old as time. Does Aldo have what it takes to take the title away from Triple C and prove all his doubters wrong?
