Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov. The most anticipated fight in the UFC lightweight division at the moment. On one hand, we have the Russian wrecking machine who is on an unbeaten streak of 28 wins, on the other hand, we have the Boogeyman of the lightweight division who has been on a 12 fight win streak in the division.
This fight has been made official on four different occasions in the past. However, due to unfortunate injuries and botched weight cut, these two fighters have not stepped into the octagon to face each other. Well, fans are hoping that fifth time would be the charm and they will finally be able to see two of the best lightweights go at each other for the lightweight title. However, the UFC title is not the only thing that will be on the line for this fight.

28 opponents have tried including the likes of Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, and Rafael Dos Anjos, however, they all have failed to end the winning streak of Khabib Nurmagomedov. With Tony Ferguson as the opponent, it is safe to say that there is a serious threat to the streak of the lightweight champion. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Tony Ferguson talked about what will be on the line in his fight against Nurmagomedov:
“You have 12 win streak against 12 win streak. One of us is gonna walk away with that one win streak. That’s all we ever got.”
El Cucuy does not stop there as he even speculated that Nurmagoemdov might be done from the sport after the next fight.
“Khabib looks like he is done with this sport after me. When I get done with him he is going to think twice about wanting to get back into the octagon for rematch and shit. I saw the way he was shadow boxing the other way, it looked like shit.” continued Ferguson.
