UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker fired back at interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje on Twitter. The two elite 155-pound fighters had a slight back and forth following a response by Gaethje on a post that mentioned Hooker.
This dude is getting merked.

‘The Hangman’ was less than pleased by the slight and resorted to calling out the interim champion.
Put your money where your mouth is, when I KO Poirier we fight in August for your plastic title! 😂 https://t.co/xY36Ygj6IG

Dan Hooker and Justin Gaethje: How things shape up?
Dan Hooker is coming off a three-fight win streak and has solidified his position as a top contender. His most recent bout against Paul Felder was close. However, Hooker has managed to be in the win column since July 2019. Chiefly he entered into the casual fan’s radar after a gritty performance in a loss to Edson Barboza. He showed a lot of heart in that bout and became a household name.
Justin Gaethje has taken a different approach when it comes to MMA marketing. The Genesis training fighter has put on some of the most electrifying showcases inside the cage.
‘The Highlight’ has lived up to his name ever since entering the UFC against Michael Johnson in his debut. Win or lose, Gaethje has the record for earning a bonus in each of his seven fights in the promotion.

Justin Gaethje has made the necessary adjustments to his game and has abandoned his reckless style. He still very much is a highlight machine. However, he now chooses to use strategy going into his fights. This is what allowed him to defeat the boogeyman of the division Tony Ferguson and snap his 12 fight win streak.
‘Hangman Hooker’ is set to battle Dustin Poirier as the latter returns to competition after his title loss to Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. With a victory over the former title challenger, Hooker will poise himself at the very top of arguably the most stacked division in the UFC.
