Patricio Freire is, arguably, one of the best fighters competing out of the UFC currently. While ‘Pitbull’ has no plans of fighting for the UFC, he doesn’t mind a cross-promotional fight. After Dana White dodged a question about, the Bellator standout fired back at the UFC supremo.

At the post-fight press conference of UFC on ESPN 15, there were questions about the potential of a cross-promotion event between the UFC and Bellator. Dana White has always been opposed to such ideas. He took a similar stand this time around as well. He even added that there was no clear cut star in Bellator who could do such justice to such an idea.

Following this, another reporter asked White about his views on Bellator double champ Patricio Freire. White’s response showed that he knew about the Brazilian. However, beyond that, he wasn’t willing to say anything else.

‘Pitbull’ reacted to White’s resistance to speak up about him. He tweeted that he is the one who smoked Michael Chandler in the first round. For the unacquainted, Chandler is one of the best Bellator fighters of all time. He is currently a free agent. White had even expressed interest in holding talks with Chandler.

“Hi @danawhite I’m the one who destroyed steroids machine  @MikeChandlerMMA, whom you said deserves a talk, in 61 seconds. If you send some of your top fighters to @BellatorMMA I can do the same to them too. Let’s bet like you did with PRIDE,” Pitbull wrote on Twitter.

Patricio Freire had earlier expressed interest in fighting Alexander Volkanovski

This isn’t the first occasion that Pitbull has targeted the UFC or its champions. After Alexander Volkanovski retained his belt in a close contest against Max Holloway, the Bellator double champ said he wanted the Ali Act in MMA. That would facilitate a cross-promotion fight between him and the Australian.

Moreover, when the UFC had restarted its business before the others in May, Freire had labeled the promotion as inhumane. He’d said that for the UFC fighters always come last.

While he is a big name today in the world of martial arts, Pitbull is still not able to manage his way to a cross-promotion fight. Given the UFC’s stronghold over the world of MMA, it seems highly bleak that the idea can be conceived into reality in the near future.
