MMA veteran Georges St-Pierre recently took to social media to remind his fans to stay safe from the Coronavirus.

In his message to the public, Georges wrote,

“No one is invincible. We MUST follow our health authorities [‘] instructions in the fight against COVID-19”.
Is UFC invincible to the threat that Georges St-Pierre spoke about?
While the world trembles in fear of the coronavirus, the UFC is continuously striving to ensure that no harm comes to its scheduled events.
Dana White has stated repeatedly that he will not compromise on his events. He said that the UFC always goes overboard with safety, and that is what it will do in these difficult times as well. While White has faced backlash for his views, he has reiterated that he will not let external forces disrupt his schedule. Holding his events behind closed doors is as far as the organizer is willing to go.

However, Dana’s claims regarding carrying on with the UFC’s schedule stand nullified. Despite his efforts to keep the functioning of all UFC events unharmed amidst the outbreak, three events now stand postponed. These include UFC Portland, UFC London and UFC Columbus.
Yet, Dana White is far from giving up hopes on UFC 249. the UFC 249 holds immense importance to the MMA Universe, as it will experience one of the biggest fights in history, Tony vs. Khabib.

While a venue for the event has yet to be decided, efforts are still on to find ways of carrying out the event flawlessly.
