Colby Covington wants to compete in the WWE. In a recent interview, ‘Chaos’ gave an approximate timeline of his debut.

It may come as a no brainer that Colby Covington wants to pursue a career in the pro-wrestling industry. Covington and other ATT members were involved in a storyline with Impact Wrestling in 2017. With more popularity than ever, Covington is targeting a run in the WWE.

WWE is probably the only sports organization running its events right now. Recently, the company conducted WrestleMania—the biggest spectacle of the company—inside their performance center.

Colby Covington plans to make WWE real again

On the ‘What the Heck show’, Covington admired the WWE performers. He also expressed his desire to be a part of it.

“I respect those guys. Those guys are some of the hardest workers on earth. I hope to join them someday. I’ve got a lot of love and respect for Vince McMahon and what he’s done for the business model of the WWE.”

Covington plans to “make wrestling real again”. The welterweight wants people to believe that the sport is real.

He said, “I’m looking to go over to WWE and make wrestling real again in the near future. Until then I’m gonna be retiring all the old fogeys over here in the UFC.”

Covington has carved out a career out of pro-wrestling. From his edgy promos to his walkout music, almost everything is inspired from pro-wrestling. However, he believes that he has much more to learn. Covington has been talking with Bobby Lashley, Kurt Angle, Ronda Rousey, and other successful pro-wrestlers.

Furthermore, he revealed a tentative timeline for his WWE debut. He also plans to make a ton of money out of it.

Covington said, “I would say probably 2021. Next summer… I’ve been practicing moves and really working on my promo and mic skills and just control and slowing things down and understanding the art of wrestling. When I go over there I want to make Brink’s trucks loads of money.”

Colby Covington seems to have all the necessary tools to succeed in the WWE. With the right storyline and angle, he can become a major star in the company. But, the pro-wrestling business can be harsh on the athletes. Not many can succeed at it.
