UFC lightweight fighter Dan Hooker revealed some good news on his social media. The 31-year-old shared his joy with the fans after getting an appointment with New Zealand officials for his visa.
Dan Hooker is getting ready for his clash against Nusrat Haqparast in a lightweight bout at UFC 266. A featherweight title bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega will headline the event. However, Hooker was on the verge of getting his bout canceled merely a day ago.
The New Zealand native will have to travel to Las Vegas for the event. However, Hooker reportedly ran into difficulties getting his visa because of New Zealand’s strict travel protocols. As a last resort, ‘ The Hangman’ made a public plea, hoping to get a response from government officials.

Now, ‘The Hangman’ has taken to Twitter to share news of finally getting the appointment with the concerned authorities. He wrote, “And we are in with a shot….they have granted me an appointment Monday.”

He added, “All goes well and I get my passport back. I can jump on the only flight out of NZ Thursday night. Arrive in Vegas Thursday night, weigh-in Friday morning, fight Saturday. #MMATwitter”
As of now, the 32-year-old will get his passport if the meeting goes well. He will appear in Las Vegas a day before the fight. ‘The Hangman’ is on a two-fight skid and will look to get back to his winning ways come fight night.
Dan Hooker Looks to Bounce Back at UFC 266
Dan Hooker is one of the most prominent names in the lightweight division of UFC. He was on an amazing four-fight win streak before losing to Edson Barboza. The 20-10 record holder is a skilled finisher with ten wins via knockout and seven via submission.

However, the New Zealand native faced a hard time in 2020 and 20121 as he lost both of his fights. Now he will clash against the Afghani fighter, Nusrat Haqparast, in a lightweight bout at UFC 266.
The event will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 25th, 2021. This is Hooker’s second fight in 2021 and it will surely excite his fans to see him in action again.
