Darren Till has been the one fighter whom you can’t miss on social media these days. However, unlike middleweight champ Israel Adesanya, not everyone took his antics lightly. Mike Perry was offended by the former welterweight’s actions. Till, however, believes that his paths will never cross with Perry inside the Octagon.

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced the world indoors, Till thought it was time to give vent to his creative side. From putting up his cropped face on others to changing his user name and adopting other personalities, Till made sure his followers laughed every time they saw his posts.

“It was time, nothing to do, one training session a day,” Till said while talking to BT Sport. “We were all bored out of our minds. I thought, ‘How can I make this a better experience for everyone who follows me?’ so everyone knows I was having jokes with the champ and that, then having jokes with Mike Perry, took it the wrong way. That’s all I did, and I’ve got a good sense of humor and I know how to write things and word things.”

However, it was all fun and games until Mike Perry took offense to Till’s jokes. The two had a bit of history between them as well. In a heated interview, Perry vowed to kick Till’s mother in her face.

Darren Till knows he will never fight Mike Perry in the future

He’s talking like next time he sees me, he’s gonna poke me in the eye or something. Come on mate, we both know that’s not gonna happen. I’m 6-foot-2. I’d lift him straight off his feet, but I don’t take offense to it,” Till said.

Let him take offense to it. I hope he does well. I hope he gets the fights he wants. He’s never going to fight me. I’m fighting contenders, former champs. He needs to worry about his path first before he starts worrying about me because he ain’t getting that fight,” he added.

While Till dismisses the chance of a fight with ‘Platinum’ Perry, the latter is getting ready for it. After his unanimous decision victory over Mickey Gall, Perry expressed his plans to move up a weight class so that he can get his hands on Till. He’s even expressed a desire to train with Yoel Romero to get better equipped in how to deal with middleweights.
