Khabib will defend his title against the Interim Lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje, in his next bout.
Even though the two originally agreed to scrap in September, Khabib had to withdraw from the timeline due to an unfortunate series of events. His father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, passed away mere weeks ago after a long battle against health complications.

The devastated Nurmagomedov broke his silence after the incident less than a week ago, wherein he paid a tribute to his father.

Very little information regarding ‘The Eagle‘ and his return to the Octagon has been disclosed as yet. In his tweet, Chisanga wrote, “No word on when he’ll be back or if he’s discussed his unification fight with Justin Gaethje with the brass.”
