With Jon Jones riding strong in media’s spotlight due to his arrest last week, former arch-rival Daniel Cormier disclosed one of his most unforgettable moments with Jones with Ariel Helwani.
Apparently, a while back, Cormier received a video from Jon Jones. In the video, four men were discussing who the best fighter was. While some argued that “Bones” Jones was the undoubted G.O.A.T, others backed DC.
However, what caught DC’s attention was that in the middle of the discussion, one of the people turned to the cameraman and said: “I’m telling you, Jon!”

Given the extremely bitter relationship he had had with Jones, Daniel did not have a prior texting history with him. Thus, a video at 2 in the night caught DC out of the blue. He said,
“Jon Jones is so crazy! He sent me a video in the middle of the night of guy discussing ‘who’s the greatest fighter of all time’! It was the weirdest thing. Craziest thing in the world!”
Although Daniel Cormier did text the person asking who it was, he did not receive any response. Yet, DC seems one hundred percent sure that it was Jon Jones. And who better to recognize a person than his/her longest-standing rival?
“Should I reach out to this guy?”- Daniel Cormier on Jon Jones
While DC and Jones did have one of the loudest and longest rivalries in the history of UFC, it all seems to be buried in the past. In fact, Jon Jones has gone on record to say that Daniel Cormier is an inspirational fighter and that his beef with him is “all in the past”.
Thus, Cormier mentioned something in the interview that startled even Ariel Helwani. He said that when Jones got arrested recently, he thought of texting him.

DC said that he thought he’d ask Jones to pull his act together. This advice comes due to Jones’ rich history of encounters with law enforcement. However, in the end, he never did send the message.
Yet, the fact that DC even thought of texting Jones for something besides trash talk shows how far the two legends have come.
