The UFC has announced two fan-friendly fights set to take place in the latter half of their yearly schedule. The reports came from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. They give an insight into the strength of fight cards going forward. Chiefly, an October 17 Fight Night card will see the debut of former champion Jessica Andrade at 125-pounds. She will face-off against top contender Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye in a clash that is bound to produce fireworks.

Not to mention, UFC 254 on October 24 will see a marquee heavyweight fight against Alexander Volkov and Walt Harris. In the main event, the lightweight strap will be on the line as Khabib Nurmagomedov faces off against Justin Gaethje.

Jessica Andrade x Jessica Eye

The aforementioned women’s Flyweight fight is a critical match-up in terms of the landscape of the weight class. Jessica Andrade will make her 125-pound debut despite having fought in divisions above and below it. She has captured immense success in both the 115 and 135 lbs divisions, thus creating a compelling narrative.

Additionally, her team believes that her migration to the Flyweight division will bear the most fruits inside the cage. She is coming off two losses against former champions at 115 lbs and will look to expand her horizon. Her opponent, Jessica Eye, was unsuccessful in her last outing against Cynthia Calvillo and will look to re-enter the win column.

Alexander Volkov x Walt Harris

The heavyweight fight on October 24 will see an exciting clash of gloves in a sure-shot barn burner. Although the fight doesn’t have immediate title implications, both men will be keen to assert themselves in the division. Not to mention, they are both coming off losses and will try to make a statement.

‘The Big Ticket’ was stopped in his anticipated return against Alistair Overeem back in Jacksonville, Florida. Curtis Blaydes ran through Alexander Volkov in their Vegas outing by putting up a wrestling clinic. Both men will look to put these setbacks behind them and break forth in the heavyweight division.
