Israel Adesanya is currently in the middle of an ugly spat with Jon Jones. While addressing the same, the middleweight champ reasoned why he is the best light heavyweight right now. However, as soon as the light heavyweight kingpin got wind of the same, he didn’t leave the opportunity to troll Adesanya.
‘The Last Stylebender’, in an interview with Ariel Helwani of ESPN, claimed that Jon Jones is jealous of him. This is because Adesanya is getting all the shine that Jones feels he should get.
“I can’t wait. Like I said, he needs me. I’ve said this before, he is jealous. He saw this young black guy, this freshman, come up and do all the things that he’d wish he could have done,” Adesanya said.

Israel Adesanya feels he is getting better with every fight
“He’s getting jealous of me because I’m getting all the shine he wished he has. I’m getting all the attention that he wishes he had…I told you. Every f**king fight what happens, I get better and better. So they were trying to get me early so they can have me on their record books. So, when I do great things in the sport, they’d be like, ‘Oh, we already beat him’.”
“Nah, give me time. Let me just work. I am still working. I’m getting better. So now you can just say I’m the best light heavyweight in the world.”
Meanwhile, the light heavyweight division has a new champ, Jan Blachowicz. Adesanya’s words didn’t sit very well with the Polish fighter who he took a jibe at the Nigerian-born Kiwi for his claims.
You are the best light heavyweight in the world only if you play me in a UFC 4. https://t.co/2G8uADzF2N

For the unacquainted, Israel Adesanya is one of the two fighters to grace the cover of EA UFC 4, along with Jorge Masvidal. Prior to his last fight against Paulo Costa, Adesanya was seen playing the game in his hotel room in Abu Dhabi.
The beef between Jones and Adesanya has been reignited following the latter’s win over Paulo Costa. At the UFC 253 post-fight press conference, Adesanya told the media that a move up to light heavyweight is possible. However, it would only come after a consultation with his coach Eugene Bareman.

Jones gave a sharp reply by even threatening to rip Adesanya’s arm off as the former is currently preparing to fight heavyweights. Since then the spat has gotten uglier as both of them have involved each other’s families.
