Conor McGregor stunned the world and sent fans into overdrive last night. He wrote, “I accept,” in response to Anderson Silva calling him out for a Catchweight bout. Fans are enthusiastic about the idea, but unfortunately Dana White doesn’t share the same enthusiasm.
Dana White is not interested in Conor McGregor vs Anderson Silva
In a chat with TSN Sports’ Aaron Bronsteter, Dana White dismissed the fight and attributed it to a product of quarantine induced boredom. He said, “It’s not a fight that I’m interested in right now. Listen, everybody’s in quarantine, right? They can’t go to the gym. They can’t go to restaurants.”

“So they sit on these stupid things all day,” said White as he raised his cell phone into the frame.

The fight, at 176 pounds, doesn’t serve any division. The UFC can see it as ‘The Spider’ wanting one last mega-fight before he eventually walks away from the sport. However, despite dismissing the Super Fight, the UFC President revealed ‘Notorious’ is not in his immediate plans.

“I’m not interested in anybody right now for Conor. I think what works for Conor right now is for him to sit back and relax. Like I said after June 6, as of right now. I got to pull off Saturday and I gotta pull off June 6 and our schedule is back on. We’re back on track with our schedule, and we’ll get fights cranking. We’ll get fights rolling, man. Some things will start playing out and then Conor can make a decision on what he wants to do next.”
This clearly reiterates White’s stance regarding ‘Notorious’ being called out by many fighters. He wants a fight to have meaning in the rankings and in determining the pecking order for future title shots. However, as of now, White remains focused on the next 2 events in Las Vegas. He also revealed he has fights lined up till July 18.

It means the fans will not see ‘Notorious’ compete for at least another 2 months.
