UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic revealed he’s still nursing his eye-injury in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani. Miocic said he was still seeing ‘spots’ after rupturing his retina.

Miocic last fought against Daniel Cormier, knocking the veteran out to capture the heavyweight title. The fighter was slated to face DC in the trilogy bout, but his vision problems might cause delays for Cormier’s last bout.

“Not worried about fighting right now”- Stipe Miocic

The UFC champ revealed he’s in no hurry to step into the octagon, with bigger problems on his mind right now. Just like Conor McGregor, Stipe has been extremely vocal in spreading awareness about the Coronavirus. And with the champ still nursing his eye injury, it might be a while before we see him step back into the octagon.

“Right now my fight is with the coronavirus. Not worried about fighting right now. The task at hand, right now I’m worried about what’s going on in the world. Once this is over with and get back a normal life, then we’ll worry about it,” Miocic said.

The coronavirus has put a stop to all major sporting events resulting in a severe blow for the promotion.
