Well, looks like ‘Cowboy’ is eager to jump into the octagon again. His last fight was at UFC 246 in January, when he went up against Conor McGregor.

Unfortunately for Cerrone, McGregor TKO’d him within 40 seconds of the first round. Post the fight, rumors regarding Cerrone’s retirement started gaining traction.

However, Cerrone denounced these claims by asserting that he would return in June-July. Although, it looks like he already aching to fight again.

There is a huge probability that Cerrone will get the fight. With travel restrictions causing the cancellation of several fights, Dana White is looking for alternatives to make UFC 249 “the baddest card ever”.

Gilbert Burns calls out Donald Cerrone for UFC 249

As soon as Gilbert “Durinho” Burns saw Cerrone’s post, he took to Twitter to fix a fight with him.

Burns currently holds a record of 18-3. His most recent win came by knocking out Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night 170. Maia currently ranks #6 in the Welterweight Division and is looking for a title contender. Hence, he is ready to face Cerrone on 18 April, just a month after his previous fight.

The results of the fight will dictate Daniel Cerrone’s future at UFC. The 36-year-old is on a 3-fight loss streak. A fourth defeat will further strengthen the voices demanding his retirement. On the other hand, Burns is on a 5-fight win streak, and the victory will propel him towards the belt.
