Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have verbally agreed to fight this December for charity, and the UFC fighters are more than supportive. Recently, BMF titleholder Jorge Masvidal also pledged his support.
In a conversation over Twitter on Monday, Conor McGregor extended an offer that was almost impossible to turn down. He offered Dustin Poirier the opportunity to come down to Ireland and face him once again.
A fight that will be fought with only one objective – charity. Conor said they will donate the proceeds from this exhibition to Dustin Poirier’s charity ‘The Good Fight Foundation.’ Such an offer was impossible to turn down.

Conor also named the place and date for the fight. He also added more details and said it would be an open weight fight with no weigh-ins. McGregor called it Charity Mixed Martial Arts, a name that has a certain ring to it and has already seemed to have caught on.
There might be one slight hindrance though, the fighter’s UFC contracts. The contracts forbid them from fighting outside the promotion without prior permission. December 12 is also the rumored date for UFC 256. But will White allow an event to go on at the same time?
White and McGregor have recently been going back and forth over Twitter about a few conversations that Conor leaked. With all this in the background, do you see White letting this go through?
Jorge Masvidal pledges his support
Even if Dana White isn’t in support, all the UFC fighters seem to love the idea. Jorge Masvidal tweeted in support of the event and even pledged a donation. He tweeted, “I will be tuning in and happily be donating to @DustinPoirier charity @thegoodfight on Dec 12 #supernecessary.”
