White adds that he talked to Khabib after he found out about their troubles. “He’s obviously busted up. But he’s a very proud guy. [Khabib] likes to act like a man. It’s a tough one. It’s tough.”

As per multiple reports coming out of Russia, Abdulmanap has been flown to Moscow where he remains in a medically induced coma. In addition, the medical staff has waived visitation privileges for family and friends as a precautionary measure against Coronavirus. He remains in critical condition.

Abdulmanap has played a very hands-on role when it comes to propelling Khabib to greatness in the UFC. He shelters multiple fighters under his wings. He also happens to be one of the most respected wrestling and Sambo coaches in his country.

Dana White talks octagon return with Khabib

At first, the promotion was looking at a date towards the end of July to hold a UFC lightweight unification bout. However, it highly unlikely for Khabib to uphold his previous commitment considering his father’s health.

White reveals that the promotion was going to send out bout agreements by Tuesday. However, the plan fell through due to certain complications.

But it seems like the promotion and The Eagle have come to a tentative agreement for the highly anticipated bout between Khabib and Justin Gaethje.

Khabib has been observing Ramadan since his initial fight against Tony Ferguson fell through. However, the religious festival comes to an end later this month, which means a date in September is a real possibility for the Dagestani fighter since it gives him enough time to recuperate and train ahead of his matchup with The Highlight.

Nonetheless, the dates remain tentative and may change at the drop of a hat, depending on Abdulmanap’s health and well being.
