Nate Diaz ended his contract with the UFC in spectacular fashion. He entered the jam-packed arena after a long layoff to add more to his legacy. Per expectations, Diaz set the rhythm in his own fashion, and ultimately after battling for three rounds, he choked his opponent Tony Ferguson in the fourth round and left the T-Mobile Arena a winner.

Speaking to media personnel in the post-fight press conference, Diaz said, “I have no plans on being back in the UFC. I have no plans in on not being back in the UFC.”
He was originally put against Khamzat Chimaev, young aggression in the division. But things changed when the latter failed to match the weight. The duo was supposed to lock horns at welterweight.
Chimaev’s failure led to unprecedented change at UFC 279. As a result, the UFC Boss replaced Chimaev with Ferguson.
