“I Need to Make This Fight Real” – Anderson Silva Will Not Let Conor McGregor Go Easily

Anderson Silva is very serious about his fight with Conor McGregor. After publicly calling out McGregor on Twitter, Silva has resorted to another tactic to convince everyone that he wants to fight the former double champ. “The Spider” sent a video to his former opponent Chael Sonnen, showing off his preparations for a possible McGregor fight.

Although Silva had called McGregor out, there was no history of a dispute between the two. On the contrary, McGregor and Silva have always been respectful towards each other. Conor even placed the former Middleweight champ on the top of his GOAT rankings. However, when it came to fighting Silva, McGregor instantly agreed.

Anderson Silva revealed he has already started cutting weight for the fight with Conor McGregor

In the video that Silva sent out to Sonnen, it seemed that the Brazilian is not letting go of the fight with McGregor. Since there is a huge weight difference between the two, Silva has offered to step in midway as far as the weight is concerned. He has offered to fight Conor at 176-pounds. Consequently, he has even started cutting weight for the same.

“Hey what’s up Chael? How are you, buddy? So I talked about my super-fight with Conor, and I start to cut my weight. And for no excuse and for everybody talking about, ‘Oh but Anderson don’t take the weight and blah blah blah.’ Ok, I start training and I’m ready for that. Conor ready too. And it’s a one thing, just Dana White, I need to make this fight real. Let’s go see,” Silva said.

Sonnen said that he would guess that Silva is around 187 lbs to 189 lbs. For someone that has just undergone surgery and is in his mid-40s, Silva is in very good shape. It is a testimonial to the fact that he is extremely serious about this fight. In a career that has seen the highest of highs, a fight with the sport’s most marketable star can be the perfect send-off for “The Spider”.

Chael Sonnen was very excited about the potential pairing of the two. He even called out the fans to rally for the fight. UFC President Dana White isn’t really excited about the fight. However, Sonnen said that Dana listens to what the fans want. Hence, if they could rally their voices for the fight, there’s a real possibility that the fight takes place.
