Although O’ Malley has accepted his defeat, he believes ‘Chito’ Vera got lucky with the win at UFC 252. Since the loss, Sean O’Malley has hesitated to credit Vera for his performance. The rising American star turned to social media once again to analyze his defeat.

“Did he win? Yes. Am I undefeated? Yes. Mentally, I didn’t lose s***. I was dominating the fight. I felt superior in there and killed my foot. It gave out. I might sound stupid, but that’s okay. Because look at me,” Sean O’Malley said.

Well, that might influence a re-match between the bantamweight prodigies. However, it is too early to predict such a happening.

It is seemingly a matter of time until we see him back.

The loss should not hurt O’Malley’s stock as he is a credible knockout artist with a long way to go. He was even compared with elite bantamweights like Cody Garbrandt before his misfortune at UFC 252. The “Sugar Show” is still relevant in the title race, at least that’s what O’Malley believes.
