WrestleMania 36 concluded with Drew McIntyre becoming the new WWE champion. MMA star Colby Covington weighed in on the possibility of fighting McIntyre and promised to make wrestling “real again.”
Unlike the traditional WrestleMania events, this year WWE decided to have the event behind closed doors. It was divided into two parts; Night 1 and Night 2. Night 2 ended with Drew McIntyre defeating Brock Lesnar for the company’s coveted title.

Colby Covington is a huge pro-wrestling fan. Almost all of his promos are inspired from the pro-wrestling industry. In an episode of TNA—once considered as the greatest rival of the WWE—‘Chaos’ made an appearance along with Dan Lambert and other ATT members.
On multiple occasions, Covington has stated his interest to compete in the pro-wrestling world after his MMA career is over.
Being a fan of pro-wrestling, Covington could not stop commenting on the latest event. Speaking to Submission Radio, Covington said:
“I heard about it. I heard that the energy was different and it hasn’t been getting good reviews. So, there’s only one thing they need to do. And that brings me over there and let me make wrestling real again.”
Moreover, the former interim welterweight champion believes that he and Drew McIntyre would be a good fight. He believes that the size difference will not affect his performance.
