Mike Perry gave his fans quite a scare when he showed his knuckles, which had sustained significant cuts. The Welterweight’s face also had a cut on his forehead. While he wrote, “Fight is still on next week”, fans questioned if he would be fit enough heading into the Octagon against Mickey Gall. As it turns out, he was just trolling people.

Ariel Helwani of ESPN asked the Welterweight how he had received the injuries. Perry laughed hysterically and explained that the video wasn’t recent. It was around six months ago when he beat up two bouncers in a club. Subsequently, he had received the injuries on his hands.

“I beat up these two bouncers. That was a long time ago. Obviously I’m not cut up right now. I was trolling people,” Perry said, letting the cat out of the bag.

Mike Perry details how he ended up beating two bouncers single-handedly

The story behind Perry’s cut on the knuckles is a rather interesting one. The 28-year-old was taking a piss at a club. The bathroom had a long hallway following the entrance. While Mike relaxed himself, two security guards stood at the end of a hallway, which was rather small. For reasons not known to the UFC welterweight, the guards didn’t look happy with him.

“I was pretty drunk. I was just taking a pee, and I was like how much did they pay you all to watch me pee? Cause they were mad at me soon as I got in there peeing. I was like it’s the bathroom. It’s not my fault that you work here. They were so mad because I just kept laughing.”

Next, while Perry decided to walk away, the two guards had other plans. They tried to block his way and bumped their chests in his face. ‘Platinum Perry’ hit one of them with his face and punched the other one with his left hand. It was when he tried to punch the guy a second time, he moved out of the way. The UFC fighter instead ended up hitting the wall. That explains the cuts on his knuckles.

Fortunately, the matter didn’t escalate and Perry got out of the club following the incident.

He will be looking to make quick work of his opponent Mickey Gall in this weekend’s co-main event. Currently on a two-fight losing skid, Mike Perry will be hoping to bounce back and gain the momentum to climb the 170-pounds rankings.
