Conor McGregor has been following UFC 249 closely. In the main event, Justin Gaethje beat Tony Ferguson and wrecked the landscape of the lightweight division. Now, ‘The Highlight’ is in line to face Khabib Nurmagomedov in a unification bout. As a result, ‘Notorious’ is without a top tier lightweight opponent.

The Irish fighter took to Twitter to respond to the new Interim Lightweight Champion, saying he’ll “go to Ireland and do what I got to do” after the Khabib fight.

“Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know. Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want. I am going to f**king butcher you. Your teeth. I’m going to put them on a fucking necklace. Speak on my skills as a father? You are f**king dead.”

The rant is a clear indicator of the former 2-division champion attacking ‘The Eagle.’ He has constantly put across the view that the Lightweight Champion goes for a leg wrap and attempts to drain his opponents. He also accuses ‘The Highlight’ of dodging him and positions himself as “the real threat.”

In addition, he also put out another tweet, where he spoke about getting the 4th ranked Lightweight fighter next, as “Khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game.”

These are words carefully crafted to ensure that he gets the unified Champion next. Dana White had said that the Tony-Khabib winner will face Conor, but ‘Notorious’ doesn’t want to leave anything to chance.
