Ali Abdelaziz believes that Conor McGregor vs Kamaru Usman would be illegal.
Soon after Justin Gaethje’s win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 249, Conor McGregor shook the internet. The Irishman went after everybody including Justin’s manager and Khabib Nurmagomedov. In one of those tweets, McGregor also mentioned his intentions to move up to welterweight after demolishing the lightweight division.
But before moving up to 170lbs, McGregor has a few hurdles to clear. He plans on becoming the lightweight champion and defeating the undefeated Nurmagomedov.

Ali Abdelaziz on Conor McGregor vs Kamaru Usman
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, manager Ali Abdelaziz responded to Conor’s dreams of fighting for the welterweight championship. Ali said that if Conor wishes to fight Kamaru Usman, he can simply ask the UFC.
“He wants to fight for the title. He wants to become the champion again, right? I think Conor has only one chance for the title right now,” Ali Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports.
“If he grows some cojones and… He tweeted 170, right? Forget about [Jorge] Masvidal right now. Listen, if Conor called the UFC and said he wanna fight with Kamaru [Usman], the UFC is gonna say yes.”
Furthermore, Ali stated that Usman is a tough fight for McGregor and it will be illegal to match him against “The Nigerian Nightmare.”
“I think he is the easiest money in the UFC right now. But he also talks a lot. He doesn’t have enough cojones to come and fight someone like Kamaru. To be honest with you, I think it would be illegal for him to fight Kamaru. I don’t think he should be legal.”
Realistically speaking, Conor was dominated by Khabib on the ground. Being much bigger and stronger than Khabib, Usman can pose some serious threat to the former double champion. However, It is worth noting that McGregor does have the power to knock anyone out at welterweight.
