It seems like the lockdown imposed to bring the Coronavirus epidemic to heel has been working wonders for Jon Jones. The UFC light heavyweight champion, home-bound, has picked up some positive practices. Something that has helped him rehabilitate after his recent run-in with the law.

Bones has been putting in the work in the gym regularly, even though the horizon is clear of any fights for him. Jones’ most recent fight in a bid to defend his title, saw him take on Dominick Reyes in the headliner at UFC 247.

The 32-year-old walked out with a win via unanimous decision. However, the results of the fight left Reyes and a huge faction of fans wondering whether the judges made the right call.

Even though the UFC has not booked him for another fight, he has been working his way through the weights. He recently shared his progress on social media, for all the word to see.

“Excuse all the profanity, I had it on Pandora earlier. Got some body fat to lose and some leg strength to game back but a better me is right around the corner. We’re working!! Consider this a before video,” Jon Jones captions a video of him working the weights.

The video left one fan dumbfounded after watching their idol lift “315” lbs. However, Jones corrected the fan and reminded him that his “Max used to be 500lbs”. He later claimed that he is looking to make his way back to his previous form in the coming months.

Jon Jones in for a serious challenge?

Based on the way things have been unfolding recently, it seems like Jones is staring down the barrel of the toughest fight of his career.

Several names have been doing the rounds of the MMA circuit, including that of Israel Adesanya. However, it seems unlikely because the UFC middleweight champion will have to move up weight classes to take Bones on.

Dominick Reyes has been flaming Jones over social media in a bid to bag a rematch. However, according to Jones he has conquered the light heavyweight division and has nothing more to prove.

Therefore, it seems like Jones is ready to amp it up. He has been sparring with Francis Ngannou on social media. Their virtual back and forth has laid the foundation for a potential fight, with both parties willing to go toe-to-toe against the other.

However, a fight between the two powerhouses looks like a distant dream, for Ngannou is looking forward to competing for the UFC heavyweight title.

But it seems like the UFC has different plans for the heavyweight gold. The promotion is looking to set up the final edition of the trilogy saga between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.
