After a successful middleweight debut against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244, Darren Till will be looking forward to spearhead his 185 lbs journey by taking on former champion Robert Whittaker this week. Dana White’s ambitious Fight Island segment will conclude with the headlining event ‘Whittaker vs Till’. The result of the matchup will draft the upcoming Middleweight scenario in UFC.

Since top-counter Kelvin Gastelum is already on a three-fight losing streak, the winner between Whittaker and Till will earn the next title shot.

Darren Till opens up on fighting at Anfield

Speaking with TSN, Till revealed that he would love to fight Israel Adesanya next. When asked to pick up a venue for the contest, Till named Anfield. “I think my favorite would be, obviously, I have spoken about Anfield, Liverpool maybe.”

Darren ‘The Gorilla’ Till is on a one-fight win streak at the middleweight, and a win against Whittaker can validate his title shot against Israel Adesanya. Thus, to add more thrill, he wants to face ‘The Last Styleblender’ in his own yard.

“You speak out loud and it will become a reality, and if you work hard, it will become a reality, so you know I say it every day to myself that one day it will happen and doesn’t matter against whom. Obviously, preferably Adesanya would be the guy to fight against in Anfield. But it would just be such a historic, phenomenal moment.”

Till has competed in iconic stadiums like MSG, which is considered as the Mecca of Combat Sports. Yet, he still placed ‘Anfield’ above all.

It seems that the Brit just can’t get Liverpool’s home stadium out of his head, and he is quite adamant about materializing one of his UFC fights over there. “Fighting in Anfield would be huge. I don’t think I could get any bigger. And I have fought everywhere MSG and all these places but Anfield would be ‘Wow’.”
