After two close contests at UFC 245 and UFC 251, Volkanovski retained his title, something that many loathe.
A lot of fighters and fans have already cited the result of the rematch to be a robbery, voicing their frustration over the scoring system.

However, ‘The Great’ Volkanovski is no longer interested in battling the Hawaiian. As per Volkanovski, he has bested Holloway twice and now wants to move on to better things.
Yet, Dana White is not ready to accept that. The UFC President has been teasing a trilogy bout between Holloway and Volkanovski, since the succession of UFC 251.

Dana White is confident that no one would deny that Holloway is worthy of challenging for a trilogy fight for the penultimate time.
Speaking to MMA Junkie, White said, “It is an interesting position to be in because I don’t think anybody would deny that Holloway deserves another crack at it.
“I can totally see Volkanovski’s side at saying, well guess what the only f**** people that matters, the judges said I want the fight twice.”
That said, the UFC officials haven’t spoken with anyone about the matchup yet. Dana White vows to sit down with his matchmakers to decide what’s best for Volkanovski at this point.
“I get both sides, I need to really sit down and talk with the boys, we haven’t talked yet and figure out what we think is the next best step for Volkanovski,” told Dana.
What’s next for Volkanovski?
Volkanovski seemingly considers it to be the real challenge. As he has already defeated Holloway twice, the Australian wants to move on. Yet, Holloway’s performance in those contests keep him relevant as far as the title contention is concerned.
