Dana White wants to get on with UFC 249, come hell or high water. Dana has already postponed three of his events due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. However, that small step backwards didn’t mean that he was going to get rid of the biggest card of this year.
As of now, UFC 249 has no location. Originally, it was scheduled to take place at Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York. However, it had to be rescheduled following government orders that placed a ban on mass gatherings. But if one door has closed upon White, he has found out four to five more.
Speaking with Mike Tyson, White said that he is one of the people who is trying to find a solution to the problem. The UFC President admitted that he was having a good time with his family in isolation. But that wouldn’t stop him from going about his business.

“I’m gonna try and pull off Tony vs. Khabib on April 18 and try to get some normalcy back in this country. Everybody’s running and hiding,” White said. “I’m one of those guys that would rather get out there and find solutions. How do we figure this out? How do we beat this thing?”
White said that media has had a very negative role to play in the pandemic. According to him, they have induced a sense of fear among people.
I think that the media has made this thing scary,” White added. “People are buying all of the toilet paper there is. If you just look at a lot of things that are going on, it’s wacky and driven by fear. It’s very weird.”
Dana White has ‘four to five’ locations ready for UFC 249
While Coronavirus has kicked off UFC operations off its track, Dana has solutions ready. The biggest hurdle in conducting UFC 249 is the choice of a suitable venue. With governments posing travel restrictions, the location must be reachable by both Khabib and Tony.

“I have four or five locations right now and we’re getting this deal done. And then we’re going to figure out who we can get in, who we can’t, what we can do and we’re going to build a card around it.”

White has always made his stand clear between all the chaos. Monetary benefits are not what drives his desire to conduct events. Instead, he wants the best for his fighters and his audience. However, his attitude still seems very casual for a situation that has been termed as a pandemic.
“I think that in a year or two, we’re going to be like, ‘Holy s**t, we shut down the whole world for this thing,” Dana said.
