On February 2nd, Spotify announced a multiyear deal renewal with Joe Rogan which is reported to be more than his last deal, which was supposedly worth $200 million over three years. The new deal will allow “The Joe Rogan Experience,” to be distributed on multiple platforms, including YouTube and Apple Podcasts.

Under the previous deal, it was exclusive to Spotify. However, even with his affluent ways, Rogan continues to commentate in the UFC for his love for the sport. And UFC boss and Rogan’s friend Dana White gave him a glowing endorsement. Along with the renewal announcement, Rogan released a Spotify playlist of hype songs he’s compiled over the years to get ready for a show.

Dana White joined Bob Menery and his friend Steiny on the Nelk Boys podcast on YouTube. During the course of the podcast, he was asked his opinion on Joe Rogan’s new Spotify deal. White was not sure if the reports of $250 million were true, he felt Rogan deserved every penny he gets as he has the biggest platform in the world at the moment. “Is that legit? I don’t know. Whatever his deal is, he deserves it. Yeah, he’s the number one guy in the world, no doubt about it. One of the most powerful voices in the world right now, period,” White asserted.

Joe Rogan has the largest podcast in the English-speaking world. The JRE podcast, where he has interesting conversations on topics ranging from psychedelics, politics, comedy, the cosmos, and the nature of reality, his discussions with a range of eclectic guests are a global phenomenon at this point. Along with the record-breaking viewership, the podcast has also made the UFC commentator deep-pocketed, and he’s about to get wealthier.

According to reports, Rogan will be paid around $250 million to continue on Spotify. A few years ago Rogan admitted in an interview that when he first started podcasting, “I definitely sucked at it… I didn’t know when to shut up and listen, and I didn’t know how to make someone comfortable so that you can get the most out of their perspective.”

Joe continued, “I’ve learned how to assist the conversation’s flow instead of waiting for my turn to talk. I learned how to be fully locked in with what the other person is saying.” However, along with the renewal announcement, the UFC commentator released a Spotify playlist of hype songs he’s compiled over the years.

To celebrate the podcast deal renewal, Joe compiled a Green Room playlist comprising 221 tracks — totaling 15 hours and 16 minutes. Rogan started the Green Room playlist “when I realized it’s more fun to turn the green room into a party” — a tactic he copied from Dave Chappelle. “He would always come to the Comedy Store and bring a big bluetooth speaker, and Dave has dope taste in music,” Rogan explained. “It changed the vibe of the room and it actually enhanced the conversations.”

Rogan’s playlist includes songs from Run the Jewels, The Black Keys, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, Nas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Dylan, AC/DC, 50 Cent, Liz Phair and Kanye West. According to Rogan, he usually plays the pre-show playlist randomly. “Sometimes I’ll start at the last song on the list. Sometimes I just spin the scroll and let my finger land anywhere… If I had to pick one song to get the party started, it’s KC & The Sunshine Band‘s ‘I’m Your Boogie Man.’ That’s the best song ever to be listening to while you walk into a sold-out arena green room. It just sets the mood perfectly.”
