UFC President Dana White was in high spirits as week two of ‘Dana White’s Contender Series’ took center stage. The long-time boss of the promotion awarded all five victors of the night with contracts signing them to the company via UFC Twitter. The move was surprising, to say the least, especially considering that not all fights ended in a finish.

Chiefly, it appears as though White was in a ‘very good mood’ following his return from holiday, thus leading to the roster expansion. White has received criticism in the past for passing over seemingly deserving candidates. It appears as though Dana White has pushed back any backlash on the matter for the time being.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto shared the news via his Twitter, and he couldn’t contain his surprise over the same. The impressive performances on display went a long way in winning over not only the UFC’s boss but also the MMA community as a whole.
Lol. What. Dana White gives all five winners tonight a contract. Admits part of it might be because he just got back from vacation and is in a good mood. Some very impressive performances tonight but I'm surprised he gave out five contracts. But the roster grows by five!

The Contenders Series: A look back at the venture by Dana White
White has been vocal on wanting to diversify the UFC’s ever-expanding brand into near and improved territories. Considering these statements, he undertook several enterprises to increase the visibility of the sport. Chiefly, the Contenders series proved to be a smashing success in aiding Dana White’s vision.
Originally, ‘Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series’, the show was announced in May 2017. White applied for independent licensing, thereby separating itself from the UFC’s existing brand. Moreover, the show is now in its fourth season and has MMA fans invested in the project that has built its own identity.
Additionally, the Apex Facility in Las Vegas was largely erected to grow the entity through the scouting exposure the show provides. A fighter coming up in the circuit with a chip on their shoulder has utilized the platform to great effect. Notable names such as Sean O’Malley, Geoff Neal, and Dan Ige have become dangerous contenders and staples in their respective divisions.
