Ahead of Tony Ferguson’s match against Justin Gaethje, Conor McGregor mocked ‘El Cucuy’ in a strange Tweet.
Tony Ferguson is currently the #1 contender in the lightweight division. ‘El Cucuy’ has viciously destroyed almost all of his opponents. With a 12 fight win streak, he rightfully earned himself a title shot. However, when Khabib Nurmagomedov pulled out of the bout due to travel restrictions, Ferguson was forced to take a fight with Justin Gaethje.
To Ferguson’s bad luck, that fight was scratched too, as ESPN and Disney official stepped in. But, it did not stop Ferguson from cutting weight. He vowed to make weight for the April 18 event, which has been postponed. Fellow lightweight, Conor McGregor wasted no time to make fun of the former interim champion.

Conor McGregor aims another tweet at Tony Ferguson
In a recent Tweet, ‘The Notorious’ posted a picture of Ferguson in his underpants.
At a point in time, Tony and Conor were under the same management company- Paradigm Sports. After Conor won the lightweight title, Paradigm Sports allegedly tried to avoid booking a match between Ferguson and McGregor.
Ferguson grew unhappy with the treatment from his management team and decided to switch to the Ballengee Group. He also claimed that he did not receive any sponsorships while he was with his previous team.
On multiple occasions, Tony has called out McGregor for a fight. But, he did not receive any significant response from the former double champ. Even when Conor returned to the octagon, he did not pay much heed to the ‘Boogeyman’.

“Let’s have the other guy”: Conor McGregor mocks Justin Gaethje
Can Tony vs Conor happen in the future?
If Ferguson can win the interim title against Gaethje and then dethrone Khabib, Conor might be next in line. The fight itself would be a barn burner. Both, Conor and Tony are Kryptonite for each other. Ferguson leaves his chin up in the air while striking, which makes him susceptible to Conor’s counters.

McGregor also has brutal power in his hands, especially his left. But, his cardio will be a huge factor in the fight. If the Irishman can’t put away Tony in the early rounds, he will find it difficult to keep up with the pace later on.
If Tony vs Conor does happen, who do you think will win?
