Conor McGregor gets really active on Twitter this time of the day. He released a barrage of tweets yesterday, targeting almost everyone in the Lightweight division. Today, he has sent out another cryptic tweet around a Lightweight title fight in July.

The 155-pound division is, arguably, the deepest one of the division right now. The past Saturday brought up a major upheaval into the title picture. Justin Gaethje broke the 12-fight winning streak of Tony Ferguson and had the UFC gold wrapped around his waist.

However, the bigger task for Gaethje remains – the unifying the title against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Dana White told an ESPN Radio affiliate in Chicago this morning that he expects Khabib vs Gaethje to take place this summer on Fight Island. This means Conor McGregor will have to wait longer to get his hands on his Dagestani rival.

However, his latest tweet may suggest that he isn’t concerned about the same. Instead, he is excited about witnessing the clash of the two champions.

The tweet may also mean that he expects to fight for a title later this year.

Dana White hints he isn’t looking to involve Conor McGregor in the title picture right now

Despite relatively lesser appearances, Conor has maintained his status as the biggest draw in the UFC. This was established once again during his fight with Donald Cerrone that did huge Pay-Per-View buys. Regardless of his affinity for a big crowd, Dana White isn’t looking to insert McGregor in the title picture.

Dana has said that any fight involving the Irish megastar is a big draw. However, the fight between Justin Gaethje and Khabib Nurmagomedov impresses the UFC supremo way more.

There is a high possibility that Conor was hinting towards the fight between Justin and Khabib. However, one can’t outrightly dismiss Conor’s chances. It’s not a very uncommon practice for fighters to jump the line when it comes to title shots.

Regardless, barring unprecedented circumstances, Gaethje vs Nurmagomedov is the next fight to make at 155-pounds division.
