yet again it’s not a good news for the fans of Conor McGregor. The former two division UFC champion has been charged with assault for punching an old man in an Irish bar. this incident dates back to April this year.
An assault charge implies that McGregor may be punished with maximum 6 months of prison time if convicted, a fine of 1,646 dollars or both. McGregor”s spokesperson Karen Kessler confirmed with ESPN that the Irish UFC champion was officially served with a summons and he will appear in the court in the Dublin on October 11th this year.
Reportedly, Conor McGregor offered drinks to the old man(50) and a few other people sitting in that Irish pub. However, the old man denied to have McGregor’s whiskey which led to an altercation between the old man and McGregor. in the end Mcgregor punched the old man in his face. the entire incident was captured in the CC TV camera and the footage was released later this year.

However, Conor McGregor apologies the old man for the entire altercation in his latest interview with Ariel Helwani on ESPN. “I was in the wrong“said the former lightweight champion accepting his mistake.
McGregor also said: “That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did. … I tried to make amends and I made amends back then. But it doesn’t matter. I was in the wrong. I must come here before you and take accountability and take responsibility. I owe it to the people that have been supporting me.”

It has been more than an year since Conor Mcgregor has competed inside the UFC octagon. However, he has been making news for all the wrong reasons. Earlier, McGregor was arrested for smashing a fan’s phone when in Miami. He was also under investigations for alleged sexual assaults.
There has not been any official information regarding the much awaited return of Conor McGregor. However, McGregor has shown interests in fighting on December 14th this year.
