The BMF title fight is on as UFC confirmed that Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz will step into the octagon in MSG regardless of the recent controversies. This is one of the biggest fights in the history of the sport considering the excitement surrounding the fight. UFC even made a BMF title for this fight. However, Former interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington thinks its “Dumb” that UFC is coming up with a fake belt as a participation trophy for two “Journeymen”.
In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Colby Covington trashes UFC for making BMF title saying:
“I think it is cute that UFC had to make this BMF title. Which by the way BMF stands for Broken Mediocre Fighters. That’s what it stands for. This is how society is today. Everybody wants participation trophy, everybody wants handouts. People want things given to them. They don’t want to be like me. They don’t want to earn it the hard way. And that’s the American way. I was born in a blue-collar family and I had to earn everything I got.”

Colby Covington also claims that Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz will never come close to being an undisputed champion in UFC.
“These guys will never touch gold, the undisputed gold and that’s the truth. They will never gonna be close to an undisputed championships, so they had to make an imaginary participation trophy for these losers, actually journeymen.Look at their records. Double digit losses for both of them. 50-50 records in the last couple of years for both of them. Since when does being a 50-50 in anything in line get you to a world championship type opportunity.”
Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal have turned rival from best friends in the race for the title. Hence it does not come as a surprise that Covington is not supporting UFC making the BMF title for the MAsvidal vs Diaz fight. Even the welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman made fun of the BMF title a few days back mentioning that Diaz and Masvidal have more than 20 losses combined.
