Later, he suffered a heart attack first due to the complications. This proved to be detrimental as he had undergone a bypass surgery just last year.
Father of Khabib Nurmagomedov had a lengthy battle with illness
The patriarch had been fighting to survive for the last 2 months. As his condition deteriorated the family had him airlifted to Moscow. A few weeks later, fans rejoiced after people close to the family revealed that Abdulmanap was off life support. This came shortly after he first slipped into a coma for a few days.
Soon thereafter, ‘The Eagle’ said that there were no major changes and his father was still serious. A couple of weeks later, the UFC Lightweight Champion revealed the doctors cured the coronavirus. However, there was no verbal communication possible. He said, “He recognizes me, but there is no communication because he is under the hospital devices. Every day, I visit him for half an hour, hold his hand, talk, he gestures to understand that he recognizes me.”
As all one can do in such a situation, he maintained absolute faith in the medical professionals of the Moscow military hospital.
