Ronda Rousey is a combat sports legend and yet has received some hatred in her WWE career. However, it’s something other greats of the sports like Tom Brady and Michael Jordan have faced in their sports as well. A former WWE heavyweight champion of the world revealed the reason why these greats get the hate when they are ruling their sport.

‘The Rowdy One’ arrived in the world of Pro-Wrestling after a Hall of Fame UFC tenure. Besides, she was the biggest star in MMA during her reign. Thus, she garnered a ton of attention from her fans and haters in WWE.

On the Busted Open radio podcast, former WWE star Mark Henry spoke about ‘Rowdy Ronda’ getting booed on Raw ahead of her WrestleMania bout with Becky Lynch in 2019.

Henry submitted, “Ronda falls under the same category as Michael Jordan… like, she is great… She suffers from the greatness hate.”

The World’s Strongest Man gave an example of Tom Brady as a great who received backlash. He said, “Brady has been to the Superbowl nine times, he’s won five of nine. There’s a lot of quarterbacks that never get to go to a Superbowl.”

He added, “And Ronda is getting the great hate… Because she earned a level of respect that most of us will never see.”

He even compared ‘The Arm Collector’ with athletes like Kevin Durant, Muhammad Ali, LeBron James, and Larry Bird.

Ronda Rousey created history at WrestleMania 35

The first female athlete to sign with UFC and headline a PPV for the promotion, Rousey also became the part of first women’s main event at WrestleMania in WWE history.

Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch competed in a triple threat contest for the Raw and SmackDown women’s titles.

Coming into the match, Rousey held the Raw women’s title, whereas Charlotte Flair was the SmackDown women’s champion. However, the two left the MetLife Stadium empty-handed as 82,265 people witnessed Becky Lynch beat both the fighters to become ‘Becky Two Belts’.

That said, all three were part of history when they headlined The Grandest Stage of Them All.
