Colby Covington and LeBron James had a brief online tussle in 2020. The #1 welterweight in the UFC and the Lakers forward are two of the top stars in their respective field. And even though the two can’t compete in each other’s sports, the brash welterweight fighter put the NBA star under the bus for a few of his remarks. Even James took time to address Covington’s words, but he did it smartly.

The two-time UFC welterweight challenger ‘Chaos’ makes small Instagram clips for his fanbase to promote the brands that sponsor him. While doing so, in one video, the brash welterweight wore questionable attire that targeted the LA Lakers star.
Covington wore a ‘F*** LEBRON’ shirt. Besides, in the same video, he had a message for his ‘good buddy’.
“Congrats, LeBron,” he told James, “Congrats on setting the record for the least-watched NBA finals in history.”
“You wish you could blame it on the pandemic but everybody’s just sick of your woke bulls***,” Covington further added.

The Miami-based fighter took a shot at the Lakers’ win over Miami Heat in the finals, which garnered the least audience in NBA history. Even earlier, the UFC athlete has called the NBA star ‘Spineless Coward’ for his prior comments.
While James didn’t give Covington a name drop, he in fact addressed Covington’s remark.
LeBron James responded to Colby Covington
King James is not the one to accept negative comments toward him lightly. The ever-outspoken NBA athlete responded the Covington’s jibe with one of his own after his team got past Denver Nuggets. In the post-game interview, James sent a message to critics.

“Anybody can talk from outside,” said The Akron Hammer. “But if they got into the ring or got into the arena, probably 10 times out of 10, they would s*** their pants,” he added further.
‘The L-Train’ didn’t offer ‘Chaos’ any clout by name-dropping. However, the message was obvious on the NBA star’s side, who made the statement two days after Covington’s infamous post-fight interview after winning a UFC bout.
