The former multiple-time Bellator MMA champion has brought the spotlight upon himself for more reasons than just his skills on the mic. Chandler pulled out all the stops in his UFC 257 debut when he managed to KO Dan Hooker in round one. ‘The Hangman’ came in with a ranking of 6 next to his name, and Chandler wasn’t even ranking in the division.
However, he managed to showcase that he’s very much the real deal after pressuring Hooker and sending him to the canvas. A single left hook dropped the New Zealand-based fighter and follow up shots to the dome ensured the early TKO win. Additionally, Chandler put on relentless forward force against a much taller man in Hooker.

His performance will serve as a highly motivating affair, especially when considering he’s now ranked number 4 in the UFC. Chandler has the opportunity to become one of the most decorated fighters in the sport. If he can add a UFC belt to his resume, his stock will shoot through the roof. What’s more, there are plenty of lightweight match-ups that make sense and there’s no shortage of marquee names.
