A combat sports world where Jorge Masvidal isn’t fighting is hard to imagine. Ever since ‘Gamebred’ hung up his MMA gloves after dropping a fight to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287, fans are asking what’s next for the American fighter. Will he ever make a comeback, or is he eyeing a brawl outside the steel cage? It appears it will boil down to the right offer.

Despite retiring, the 38-year-old is still attached to the promotion. He showed up when the UFC called him to coronate his successor as BMF title holder at UFC 291, taking over the role of Dwayne Johnson. Now the perennial brawler is ready to entertain the idea of boxing or even a stint in professional wrestling. While his priority remains the Gamebred Fighting promotion, he will jump ship, if the fight purse is beefy. But will he be able to cope with the likes of Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar?

Further, he was upbeat about a flourishing career in WWE. The American fighter put the WWE on alert by giving them a green signal. “If the WWE wants a savage like me, then sign me up,” the former UFC fighter declared. The $6 million-worth star also specified his intent to move to WWE and “domesticate” the competing wrestlers.

The MMA fighter’s zeal for fighting is well documented. In addition, his backstage brawls with the likes of Leon Edwards are also known, and therefore he believes he’ll hurt the WWE star every night. Hence, he announced, “If I go to WWE, I’ll put a hurting on them every night. I’ll torture them, make life f*cking hell for all of them. No one over there can beat me.”

Is Masvidal’s WWE career a long-stretched dream or a practical reality?

The fans witnessed Masvidal land his iconic flying knee on Chris Jericho at the AEW Grand Slam in 2021. However, that could never result in a prolonged storyline.

Notably, ‘Rowdy’ has made the most successful switch to the WWE. Meanwhile, Daniel Cormier also flirted with the idea for a brief time. On the other hand, Masvidal’s primary focus remains on his fighting promotion. But we live in an unpredictable world where strange things happen in combat sports.
